Winterton-on-Sea is a small village located in Norfolk, England, situated on the east coast of the country. It is bordered by the sea to the east, the River Thurne to the south and the Norfolk Broads to the north. With a population of just over 500, Winterton-on-Sea is an idyllic village with a unique charm.

The reserve also has a number of hides and trails, so visitors can experience the wildlife up close.

As well as its wildlife, Winterton-on-Sea also has a variety of historic features. The village is home to the 14th century St Peter and St Paul Church, as well as the remains of an Iron Age settlement. There are also the remains of two World War II pillboxes, which were built to protect the village from invasion.
