Winterton-on-Sea is a small seaside village located on the north coast of Norfolk, England. An estuary of the River Ant, the village is situated between the two nearby towns of Great Yarmouth and Cromer and is home to a long sandy beach, dunes and a nature reserve.

Winterton Beach is a popular destination for holidaymakers and day-trippers, due to its tranquil and picturesque setting. The beach is a haven for wildlife and nature enthusiasts, with the Norfolk Wildlife Trust managing the Winterton Dunes nature reserve which backs the beach. Here visitors can find a variety of flora and fauna, such as common terns, little terns, dunlin, sanderling and ringed plovers. There is also a wealth of rare plants, fungi and insects to be seen.

The beach is great for sunbathing and swimming, as well as long walks along the shoreline. The waters here are generally calm and shallow, offering younger swimmers a safe and enjoyable experience. At low tide, there is a large expanse of sand to explore, making this a great spot for sandcastle building, beach games and kite flying.

The beach is also a favourite spot for surfers, with a variety of waves to choose from. The nearby Cromer Pier is a great spot for more experienced surfers, but for those new to the sport, Winterton is a great place to start. The beach is also popular for kite boarding and windsurfing, and there are several local companies offering lessons and equipment hire.

The village itself has a range of shops, pubs and cafes to explore. There's a small supermarket, a gift shop and a few cafes serving traditional fish and chips. There are also a couple of pubs, one of which is the popular Anchor Inn which serves real ale, fresh seafood and traditional pub grub.

Winterton-on-Sea is a great place to explore and relax. From its stunning beach to the quaint village centre, it's the perfect destination for a day out or a longer stay. Whether you're looking to get active in the water or just relax and enjoy the scenery, Winterton Beach has something for everyone.
